13th March 2024...day 4 in Guadeloupe visit to the zoo

First stop this morning,
The Beach at le petit-havre.

Buster look-a-like !

There is an iguanas tail disappearing into the growth behind us...he and I were both startled by a 40cm long bright green lizard falling out of a nearby palm tree.

This is called Brain coral (dead and dried out)..lots of it in this corner of the beach.
Ummm, does he mean me?

In the afternoon we went to the zoo!

Civet?( No it's an Ocelot!)

Ring tailed lemur with baby on her back
Humming bird
Lizard pinching the hummingbirds food!
4 turtles on a log

Another stunning lizard.

A Black Jaguar, captive bred in France .

This female was bred in Spain.
Apparently the same species but the black pigment in the black jaguar are stronger...when he walked, you could still see all his spots.

This puts my cheese plants to shame!
Anteater

Dave went on the treetop walk, unfortunately (😂🤣😂) my wheelchair was not allowed...PHEW!

Toucan

Humming bird

Best picture we could get of a Red Panda
