29th May 2023 Dave trapped in camping-car!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures...but 5 mins after we arrived home, after taking one lot of bags into the house, Dave went back to fetch some more...it started to rain so much, he was not able to leave the camping-car for another 30 mins!

28th May 2023. Our return trip.

We stopped in Gaillac for the night, fortunately there is an "all you can eat" buffet style Chinese restaurant in town, only 15mins in the wheelchair.

We arrive just as the rain, ⛈️⚡⛈️ starts.....we eat slowly and after an hour and a half the rain stops.....we get back to the van still dry, and very full!

Next morning

We and only 2 other vans in what used to be the municipal camper site, now Camping car parks.

Orchids beside the road, I've never seen so many, poppies too.

A mutant orchid?

Some pictures Jane sent me, as I stupidly forgot to take any!

We had a super 2½ days with them and enjoyed their garden enormously.

26th May 2023 .....Caussade and the Hat Museum

Next morning we find the village where we have camped, is known as The City of Hats....
We finally find the museum inside the tourist information building.
It was surprisingly interesting, the invention of the straw boater.
Here is local wearing his boater with great aplumb and listen to the commentary through the earphones carefully concealed (not) inside!😜

25th May 2023 En route to Dordogne via Albi.

We went to visit Jane and Frank in the Dordogne.....we had a sight seeing trip around Albi en route, as it's our first visit there we go on the road train.
We wanted to go into the cathedral, the largest brick built one in the world....but no wheelchair access could be found .
Le Tournesol restaurant was a magic find, all veggie and absolutely delicious 😋

Albi in no particular order!

Vegetarian restaurant highly recommended by me AND BY Dave.

15th May 2023... Planting out the tomatoes

After swearing not to garden this year, due to last year's intense heat problems, with prices of both fresh fruit and veg climbing and producer grown plants skyrocketing, I went back on my pledge, and searched through my brimming seed box
I grew tomatoes from seed I already had, 30 made it to the garden .

The plates are covers for my home made ollas/oyas!

Various varieties

Corné d'Andian
Marmande
Joyeux d'Idaho
Ananas

+ China Tom
(it's one I have forgotten the name of, but feel it came free in an order from china!)
