30th March 2023...more broccoli 🥦

After failing to tie up the broccoli stalks this year, I'm starting to think they prefer being flat to the ground, this way they don't keep being blown over...good crop again...

11th March 2023...Back in Barcelona!

We finally docked, about 7or8 hours after schedule. Due to the terrific winds that have been blowing in these parts...Hérault is supposed to be worse.
So after getting up at 6am and vacating our cabin as directed by 7.30am we had to wait another 5 hours until the port of Barcelona would allow us to dock because of high winds. This also meant that all work that would normally occured before we disembarked was happening when we disembarked...our suitcases, stores for ship...etc. people visiting Barcelona...

Then we had a long trip home, no halfway hotel this time, and we already knew the weather was worse in Hérault.
After a stop in Jonquera, for Spanish supplies, and something to eat, Dave had to drink Red Bull to stay awake!
Fortunately all trees blocking the road up to Cailho had been removed.
It was about 21h when we got back.

9th March 2023...Day 10 Genoa....

Day 10 Genoa.

Our first view of Genoa.
Our green Rick Shaw.
And meet with the pilot, Youssef.

Lighthouse

A church, with shops under and accommodation above!

Youssef and the old bank, with St George the patron Saint of Genoa behind him.

Our Rickshaw

Fabulous ship, but
not old, built by Roman Polanski for a film.

This house was built by a rich merchant, who when his neighbour built something bigger and blocked his view...put a sundial on his house, with a cherub baring his bottom at the neighbour!
It's in the brown patch between the windows.

House to commemorate Jeans, originally from Genoa or Gene as it is called in french.

A butchers
Ceiling of the church with 12 confessionals in it
Situated next to the red light area.

Narrow streets that bend, to keep the enemies out.
St Georges flag flying.

The cathedral which got hit by a shell during the war, from an English ship. The shell didn't explode, and when dismantling the shell, they found, not only was it Italian, it was made in Genoa!
Our vegetarian meal at Soul Kitchen...
the food for us was very "experimental",
4 courses , coffee, water and a beer....90 euros!!

Street entertainment.

We visit the Bio dome on the harbour.

Back to the train station,
which is where our ship is docked.

Our waiter is very talented with napkins, he made this heart and rosebuds in about 5 mins.

Another shipping line, who have painted there ships
With super heros.
This is Wonder woman and Bat man!

Roof line

Going to dinner, tonight's theme is glamour!
