3rd and 4th August 2023... Fête d'ail à Lautrec...Garlic festival at Lautrec.

Thursday 3rd August we drove in the camper with Carla to Lautrec about 2 hours drive, to visit the fête d'ail which we visited for the first time 12 years ago with Cheryl and Roger.
We went early as the municipal parking in town, was not bookable in advance....we arrived to an almost empty park, which was full by the evening.

Wash house
Parking.
Really nice spot 8euros 24hrs.

Dave and Carla walked into town in the evening to see how plausible my walker would be, we couldn't remember if the streets were cobbled, fortunately not!

They brought back a Lebanese takeaway, as there was no tables left at the restaurant....it was scrummy.

4th August
First look at the garlic skin models... I remember many more 12 years ago ,☹️ only 10-15 this year.

The famous garlic soup.

Dave and Carla queing for soup..
There was a small shower, but a lot less than predicted.

We walked up to the windmill.

Had our picnic of wraps on the damp grass...on our rain coats (well I had my seat!)

Garlic judging I guess?

These are the ones we bought...

Look at the decoration just below the window..
weird stuff 😱
