Olivier with his digger arrive to dig out the trenches for the wall footings and drain.

Also a trench for the hedge at the back of our new land.

Lucky for us, a guy in the village has this small digger, he is away soon for Christmas, but came over for an afternoon to level the base, although it was not bad, it was sloping away from the barn/field and we wanted it to slope towards the barn/field .....Also note the few Heathers on the bank, and what you cant see is loads of Irises on the bank too...i will try to remember to take pictures in spring...

After so many months of drought, it was nice to see more rain....however, just after we had dug out behind the house.....not so much !
